Wrestling, conditioning and discipline. The age when teens most often quit sport — we keep them in.
The club's main classes: jiu-jitsu in the gi and no-gi grappling. 16 and up, any level.
A separate mat and your own pace. Self-defense and jiu-jitsu in a women-only group.
Wrestling without the gi: rashguard and shorts, body grips. Separate classes for adults and teens. Included in the regular membership, no extra charge.
One-on-one with a coach. Game review, competition prep, a fast start from zero. Time arranged separately.
Black Belt was founded in 2020. Since then the club has grown from one gym to three.

From age 4. The youngest train separately from older kids: their own group, their own pace and plenty of play-based drills. Age groups differ by gym — see the schedule.
Jiu-jitsu is grappling without strikes. Nobody punches or kicks; the work happens in the clinch on a soft mat. For the first months the youngest don't wrestle at full intensity — they learn to fall, to protect themselves and to listen to the coach.
This is normal and the coaches are ready for it. A newcomer isn't put straight into sparring: for the first classes they work with a coach or an older child. It usually takes two or three sessions.
Yes. At the Nazhimedenov gyms there is a waiting area for parents at reception, and a TV shows the class live, so you can see how your child is doing. Parents don't go onto the mats: it is easier for the child to follow the instructor. The Bokeikhan 25A gym has no such area — ask the front desk what works best.
No. For the first classes a t-shirt and athletic pants with no pockets or zippers are enough. A gi becomes useful once it's clear the child is in it seriously.
Yes. People with no sporting past join at every age. The load is scaled to you, and there is no live sparring in the first sessions.
Grappling is no-gi — rashguard and shorts. Gi jiu-jitsu uses grips on the fabric, so the pace is slower and there is more technique. The foundation is shared; many people do both.
Yes. Private lessons are arranged directly with a coach, at a time that fits your schedule.
Indoor sandals, water and a towel. You train barefoot on the mat, and nails must be trimmed short.
A single-gym membership is 12 classes a month at the gym you picked. If you want to train more often, or use all three gyms, there is the all-access plan.
